I'm currently helping to organize 'Berlin Book Days 2012' at C/O Berlin along with other fellow Berlin based creatives. The photobook fair opens May 25th alongside exhibitions of Larry Clark and Rafal Milach and will conclude with the first ever Photobook SLAM. My Fengsel series is currently part of the Women in [Prison] Photography exhibition curated by Pete Brook at the Humble Arts Foundation. As part of his Berlin Biennale exhibition Tomas Rafa included one of my images of a candlelight vigil in memory of the Utøya killings in Norway. As part of Prospect.2 NOLA my images of New Orleans will be part of William Pope.L's traveling exhibition entitled 'When you dream of New Orleans, what do you dream of? // When you wake up in the morning, what do you see?' According to the artist: 'The images will be part of a video installation, mounted on a truck that will traverse NOLA neighborhoods like a magic lantern, as part of the inaugural events celebrating the opening of Prospect.2, the International Arts Exhibition to open October 22, 2011.' The Skogen project will be exhibited by the Billboard Art Project in New Orleans October 22 to November 18th, 2011. Four weeks of art including my Skogen project will be interspersed among advertising at Pontchartrain Expressway, east bound, just after South Claiborne Avenue. I'm currently working on two personal projects. I'm interviewing, writing about and photographing Eisbaden (Ice Bathing) participants in East Berlin. I'm also continuing my project on interviewing and photographing inmates, mostly foreigners, in Norwegian prisons. More to come soon!
I'm showing work in the 2010 Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Étienne's 'La Ville Mobile' exhibition in November. I'll be showing an image from the 2009 Christopher Street Parade in Berlin, taken on the Unter Den Linden near the Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor) and The Victory Column (Siegessaule). The Berlin annual parade is held in memory of the Stonewall Riots that happened on New York's Christopher Street in Greenwich Village on June 28, 1969.
